The City of Sedalia made energy efficient upgrades to seven of their City buildings in 2007. Improvements include upgrades to HVAC units, a building automation system, and a new geothermal heat pump system. These upgrades are projected to save the city approximately 183,963 kilowatt hours of electric usage annually.

The State of Missouri contracted Trane to install efficient upgrades to lighting, HVAC units, and building security in 15 buildings throughout the State totaling 642,685 square feet of upgrades. These energy efficient improvements are guaranteed to save the State 4,613,401 kilowatt hours of annual electric usage and approximately $37,000 in annual operating and maintenance costs.

In March of 2008, Osage County took steps to become a leader in energy efficiency. The County worked with Trane to complete one million dollars in upgrades to failing and aging infrastructure in the historic Osage County Courthouse and three other County buildings.
